Overlord – Enough entertainment

Set in the context of World War II, Julius Avery’s film, Overlord, portrays the viewer as somewhat devastated by the war. The main feature of the film is about a group of US soldiers entering a village was occupied by the Nazis to carry out an important mission and also in this place, a story they did not doubt happened.

A combination of war genre, horror, sensational … Overlord campaign may be a bit strange for many viewers. Of course, the film was not as dry as the documentary or documentary about war. But enough to expose the pain of the villagers when the war swept through. It’s not just physical pain, guns, but also mental pain, people who live every day in fear, fear, detention by a brutal force, in people treated as experimental animals. In terms of content, the film may not have so many new or unexpected elements, even the details of a “thousand-year army” is not attractive. But make up the character is quite good, true and “abhorrent”.

Also not to mention the acting of the actor in the film, most of the whole cast has done very well his role, showing the personality characteristics. But perhaps most praising is the child actor Gianny Taufer, whose role can not be said perfect or excellent but she has shown the character that an eight-year-old boy should have, noisy and trouble but extremely lovely. In addition, the horror and action elements of the film have been completely effective in showing the whole dark patch, the worst side of human war, the journey from a normal person to become Devil has made the film more attractive and thrilling.

Specifically in this respect was the character of Nazi officer Wafner played by Pilou Asbæk. This character is the character has left much impression for the writer, perhaps also because of this guy compared to the feel of the writer is more prominent as the male lead Ed Boyce played by Jovan Adepo. The wickedness that Wafner brings is not only the punches, but also the debauched actions to express the self, the aggressiveness of himself. In contrast to Wafner, Ed Boyce is a typical example of the two words “mother”, a man with a kind heart. If Wafner represents the dark side of the war, cruel, violent and vicious, Ed Boyce is the reverse version, this honest, gentle guy is the one who contributed to it. The villagers escape the enemy’s dark conspiracy.

However, the scriptwriter seems to have been going in the direction of the horror film, the main character “innocent like a fairy” alone stormed the enemy base, apparently in the room opened the light but I like to hold the battery soi light through the reissue, talk is as comfortable as no place, see what horrible, innocently shouted up.

The base of a well-known and mighty army, like Nazi Germany, is not locked, the guards patrolled as if they had been, were penetrated by others, went back and forth, went from top to bottom. Underneath, even a peddling rattled but still no one knows. In addition, there are still many, many other circumstances that inhibit the viewer.

In the end, the end of the movie can make some feel that it is not enough to satisfy the end. The Overlord campaign is a pretty good movie with a simple plot. However, with a B movie, this is not a bad Overlord.
